The College offers well equipped and spacious Library-cum-reading rooms to provide a quiet atmosphere to the students for utilizing their free time to enhance their knowledge. An efficient librarian is always there to help the students. Fresh wrappers and periodicals are always on the racks for the students.To keep the library work running smoothly, the students are expected to keep in mind some points. The college has a Library well stocked with books on all subjects. Subjects are expected to make proper use of it and observe the following rules.
Library books will be issued to a student on production of library card (included in the Diary ) which will be stamped by the Librarian every time a book is borrowed or returned.
The student whose library card has been lost will be held responsible for all the books issued on that card.
Books of reference, dictionaries and current issues or periodicals will not be issued. However students can sit in the library and read or consult them.
Students are authorized to draw the following number of books from the library at a time. (a) XII class (Arts / Commerce / Medical / Non-Medical) 2 Books. (b) T.D.C. (B.A. / B.Sc. (Eco.), B.Com. , B.Com. (Prof.), (B.C.A.), I, II, III and B.A. (Hons.) 3 Books. (c) M.A. Part I, II and Diploma Courses, 3 Books.
Books borrowed by students must be returned, within a fortnight of the date of issue or got re-issued, the latter depending on the discretion of the Librarian. Delay in returning books will entail a fine of 50 paise per day, per book.
A student losing, defacing, underlining and damaging a book shall be required to pay the cost of the book if she cannot replace the book in question. If a book belongs to a set or series or volume, she will be required to pay the cost of the complete series if she cannot replace the particular volume damaged. The cost of the book should be paid in the office. In no case should money be paid to the librarian directly.
The students must possess their identity card while going to the Library and Reading Room.
Reference books, Text Books, rare books and periodicals shall not be issued except for consultation on the library premises.
Books shall be issued during the hours notified from time to time by the librarian.
Poor students can have books from the Book Bank meant for this facility. For this they should contact the librarian.
Books shall be issued on the presentation of a library voucher duly filled in and signed by the student.
Refund of library security should be claimed within a year of leaving the college otherwise it will lapse in favor of the college.
The college helps the poor and deserving students by issuing to them textbooks on loan from the book-bank of the college library for the whole session.
Silence and order must be maintained in the library all the time. Anybody found disturbing the peace of the library can be turned out or fined.
Readers are expected to leave the library 5 minutes before the bell rings in order to avoid unnecessary confusion and hurry.
Library Card: Students are provided with the library card so as to issue the books. This library card is non-transferable. The student possessing the card is entitled to draw books from the college library, subject to the library rules and shall be responsible for all the books taken on this card.
