The College Magazine

The College publishes its Magazine GOVIND annually. Students and members of the staff contribute articles to it. The Magazine has seven sections viz. English, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Hindi, Home Science, Fine Arts and Commerce & IT and has a student editor for each section. The editors are selected on the basis of a test and other academic considerations. The Magazine provides opportunity to the students to express their views and ideas in writing.

Diary Cum-Identity Card

Each student is provided with an identity card containing important instructions which she must follow during her college hours. Students must posses the identity-card while attending the college.

Tutorial System

For closer supervision of the work and progress of students, they are divided into groups and each group is placed under a tutor who looks after the interests of the wards and keeps a record of their work and progress while they are in the college. The Tutors maintain tutorial registers in which they keep a detailed record pertaining to a student's academic progress and general behaviour etc. The guardians of the students are also kept in touch with the activities of the students. The Tutorial system is an essential part of the college routine. Tutorial Groups meet every month.

Educational Tours

The College arranges trips to places of educational and historical importance in India during autumn and writer break or at any other convenient time.

Educational Seminars

The College arranges educational seminars as well as seminars on latest topics such as IT, Literature, etc. The college also conduct seminars to aware the students about the society.

Extra-Curricular Activities

College does not impart only bookish knowledge but also takes care of overall development of the students. The institution is trying to create responsible citizens for the society. For this different activities and competition are conducted from time to time to inculcate moral and social values.

College Youth Club is affiliated to the Directorate of Youth Services, Govt. of Punjab.
A Talent Search Competition is organized every year to give a chance to budding artists to show their talent.
During the session various inter college competition are conducted.
Every year the Annual Convocation is held by the college. Here the graduates and post-graduates are given the degrees for various courses.
To encourage the students for their good results and other performances college hold Annual Prize distribution functions every year.
For the entertainment of the students college organizes a colorful and gala fete.
To bid farewell to the outgoing students, a gala valedictory function is organized every year at the end of the session.

 Morning Assembly

It is compulsory for all the students to attend the morning assembly on Monday. Discipline and patriotism are the watch words of the assembly. Important announcements are made regularly in the assembly.

College Uniform

The college uniform is white cotton (khadi) shirt and salwar with white malmal duppatta. No embroidery or lace work is permitted on this dress. All the students must wear the college uniform on (1) Monday (2) all the functions of the college and (3) all the occasions when they represent they represent their college.

Stipends Scholarships, Fee Concessions

Liberal concessions in fees and stipends are awarded by the college on the basis of merit in studies, sports and cultural activities, Besides all types of State and Central Govt. Merit Scholarships, Scheduled caste stipends, Backward class stipends are available. Students getting the benefit of any Govt. Scholarships in their previous college will continue to derive the same benefit after migration.

  1. The concessions are granted from 1st August. The concession depends upon a student's satisfactory progress in studies, regularity in classes and good conduct.
  2. If a student fails in any subject any House Examination, her concession will stand cancelled automatically.
  3. The Principal reserves the right to change any condition, if necessary without notice.

If a student enjoying fee concession / stipend leaves the college or migrates before taking her University Examination, she will be required to surrender the entire amount paid to her by way of concession / stipend by the college with retrospective effect.
